Amanda Paga

Senior Account Executive

From tragedies and Presidential elections, hurricanes and blizzards, to Super Bowl-winning and Mardi Gras celebrations, Amanda joined Strauss Media Strategies, Inc. in September 2019 and brings nearly 15 years of TV news experience and judgement, as a producer at acclaimed television stations in Washington, DC, New Orleans, and Pittsburgh.

At WJLA-TV, the local ABC affiliate in the Washington, DC market, Amanda was responsible for producing a daily newscast – coordinating with reporters, assignment editors, video editors and the anchor team. She was often asked to fill in on the other main broadcasts – morning, evening, late night or weekends.

At WVUE-TV, the local FOX affiliate in New Orleans, Amanda lead the morning show team in expanding the broadcast from two hours to four before her departure in 2012. She took on the responsibility of booking guests for the broadcasts, including local leaders, politicians, sports analysts and the top chefs and entertainers. She also served as a field producer during the Mardi Gras season Endymion Parade special, New Orleans Saints pre-game shows, and a special holiday morning broadcast from City Park. Amanda lost everything during Hurricane Katrina. But one of the highlights of her news career, was playing a part in telling the story of the Big Easy’s renewal after Katrina.

After evacuating New Orleans for Katrina, Amanda returned to WTAE-TV, the local ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, where she had interned in the Sports Department two years earlier. Amanda’s responsibilities included producing Good Morning America cut-ins, filling in as a producer on the Noon news broadcast, working on the Assignment Desk, even joining photographers in the field for stories. She was involved in the special election coverage of Mayor Bob O’Connor, his very brief stint as a cab driver when Pittsburgh hosted the MLB All-Star festivities, and his death from cancer nine months after his election. She also played a key role in the station’s coverage of the Steelers playoff run and 5th Super Bowl win.

Amanda graduated from Loyola University New Orleans, with a BA in Journalism, with a minor in Business Administration. She has a passion for sports, especially football and softball. She grew up a three-sport athlete in Pittsburgh, and still plays softball in the Metropolitan Media Softball League here in Washington, D.C. Her favorite teams are the Steelers and Penguins. She loves being an aunt, hiking, visiting vineyards and breweries, and reading.

"Several months ago Strauss Media helped us out with a TV SMT for a high profile client on short notice. The project posed several logistical challenges, but their team exceeded our expectations in just about every way. Our client was very pleased, and so were we. Strauss Media is on my speed-dial for a very good reason: results."
