Strauss Radio Strategies Honored at the 2010 Platinum PR Awards Competition Print E-mail

SRS Recognized by PR News for Purdue Pharma and US Conference of Mayors Public Service Announcement

WASHINGTON, DC – November 1, 2010 – Strauss Radio Strategies, Inc. (SRS), the nation’s leading provider of strategic radio media relations services, announced today that it is the recipient of an Honorable Mention at the 2010 PR News Platinum PR Awards in the Public Service Announcement category.

The Platinum PR Awards luncheon honored the top PR campaigns of the year, the smartest communication initiatives, along with The Top Places to Work in PR. During the awards ceremony, held at the Grand Hyatt in New York City, 37 Platinum PR Awards were presented to firms throughout the country. The SRS staff attended the event with over 400 leading public relations professionals and accepted an Honorable Mention in the Public Service Announcement category.


An Honorable Mention was presented to SRS for the Purdue Pharma and US Conference of Mayors Prescription Drugs PSA project, which was judged to be among the most outstanding communication initiatives. For this project, SRS, along with Purdue Pharma and the US Conference of Mayors, designed and executed a PSA campaign to spread awareness on the topic of prescription drug abuse, especially by children and teenagers.


According to numbers from station PSA directors, the PSA was aired 1,752 times. Based on these results, the total audience is then 5,522,400 listeners. In other words, the project reached over five-and-a-half million people via over seventy confirmed radio outlets.
