Strauss Radio Strategies Selected as Vendor for 2012 Democratic National Convention Print

Nation’s Leading Broadcast PR Firm Travels to Charlotte, NC to Provide Radio Services

Washington, DC – August 31, 2012– Strauss Radio Strategies, Inc. (SRS), the nation’s leading provider of strategic radio and television media relations services, announced today that it has been selected as a vendor for the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) named Strauss Radio Strategies, Inc. as one of the Studio 2012 Vendors for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. SRS will be part of a team of vendors and convention staff working on a variety of radio services for Studio 2012 on the oversight of the Studio 2012 radio booking operation, radio pitching, and overall radio execution.

"In addition to their extensive wealth of knowledge, experience and talent, our vendors bring their excitement and enthusiasm to this project," said DNCC CEO Steve Kerrigan. "Studio 2012 is essential to our work because it allows us to localize the convention experience and ensure that elected officials, campaign surrogates, and others attending the convention here in Charlotte can communicate our message of bringing Americans together to those tuning in from communities across the country. Studio 2012 helps us deliver on our mission to engage more Americans than ever before in the most open and accessible convention in history."

“I am thrilled that our firm has been chosen as a vendor for this year’s Democratic National Convention,” said Richard Strauss, President of Strauss Radio Strategies, Inc. “It is truly a great honor and we look forward to providing excellent radio services to the Democratic National Convention.”

Studio 2012 is a full-service multi-media studio that is built within the convention hall. The primary purpose of the studio is to provide regional and local television and radio markets with access to prominent surrogates and elected officials that are at the convention. In addition to radio, the operation will include satellite TV studios, photo, video, and online support that will allow those on the ground in Charlotte to communicate directly with media in their home states.

The Studio will be fully operational for approximately 20 hours each day of the convention. It will be housed in Time Warner Cable Arena for the first two days of the convention and will move to the field at Bank of America Stadium for the final day.

The DNCC evaluated proposals based on numerous criteria, including, but not limited to: experience, reliability, relationships to Charlotte, North Carolina, and the surrounding region, participation of union labor, women, minorities, LGBT, veterans and persons with disabilities, and innovative proposed solutions.
