SENIOR Account Executive
Alisa Zee joined the Strauss Media Strategies in October of 2021.
Alisa brings more than 45 years of an extremely successful broadcast and PR career to Strauss Media Strategies. During her prestigious career, Alisa has interviewed thousands of political leaders, entertainers, top sports figures as well as every-day community influencers. She spent years on the air with NBC Newsradio as a national news anchor and continues to host a public affairs radio program that airs on five radio stations in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan. For many years, Alisa worked as a regular contributor on the nationally syndicated radio program, America in the Morning with Jim Bohannon.
Over the years, Alisa was also a publicist for her father, veteran broadcaster and educator, Specs Howard and served as publicist for numerous authors and entertainers, including one of her favorite projects, working as publicist for entertainment photographer, Jules Follett. Throughout that project, Alisa travelled the country as she booked Jules on television and radio programs nationwide.
Alisa is a graduate of the University of Michigan with degrees in English and in Vocal Performance. Both of those areas of study helped to further enhance her love of reading, writing and performing. She also attended and graduated from the Specs Howard School of Media Arts, which guided her to launch a long and successful career in the media.
Helping charitable institutions is a big part of Alisa’s, “out of the office,” life, spending many weekend evenings volunteering her services as speaker and/or Emcee at a myriad of charitable functions. Additionally, she co-founded a non-profit organization called Horses Heal Hearts. This group was formed to honor a fallen area police officer and continues to shine a light on the good works of first responders, while lifting the spirits of those in need. She is also in the process of forming a new non-profit organization called, The Specs Howard Legacy Foundation. In addition to honoring her father, this group will be dedicated to sharing the stories of people who have made positive contributions to their communities.
Personally, Alisa is the extremely proud mother of four daughters, one son-in-law and the newest love of her life, her granddaughter. She spends her free time reading, writing, watching movies and walking Teddy The Dog.
